Snow returns on Wednesday

Summary

Tuesday will be mostly sunny and dry, then flakes will arrive on Wednesday afternoon.

Update

Monday was a perfectly sunny day, and now on Tuesday morning, we once again have a temperature inversion as readings up on the hill are in the teens with readings near the base in the single digits.

Tuesday will be a mostly sunny and warm day with a high temperature of around 30 degrees.

Wednesday, which is opening day (!), will start out dry, then we'll see more clouds throughout the day with snow likely starting by mid-to-late afternoon, and the high temperature should be in the low 20s. If the snow starts early enough, there could be just a bit of powder by the time of last chair on Wednesday.

Wednesday night into Thursday morning will bring more snow with likely 1-3 inches by Thursday mid-morning. The northwest and north-northwest wind direction with this storm is not ideal for Steamboat (the best wind direction is from the west or west-northwest) but the system should be strong enough to bring us at least some snow and softer conditions by Thursday morning.

Friday and Saturday will be a return to dry and mostly sunny weather with high temperatures around 30 degrees.

Then on Saturday night into Sunday, a fast-moving storm from the west should clip northern Colorado and deliver a few inches of snow. This should create soft-ish conditions on Sunday.

Looking ahead to next week, a storm is likely around Tuesday, November 29, though it's too soon to talk about the details like storm timing and snow amounts.
