Light snow continues. The most on Sunday night?
Summary
The weekend will bring clouds with some snow, and we might sneak out some powder for Monday morning.
Update
On Friday, the sky stayed mostly cloudy, and thankfully, temperatures warmed into the teens and 20s.
On Friday night, weak storm energy moved back into Colorado and we saw light snow that amounted to a dusting to an inch across the mountain.
On Saturday and Sunday, we'll see a mix of clouds, maybe a break of sunshine, temperatures in the teens and 20s, and maybe a little more snow as weak storm energy continues to move across Colorado.
On Sunday night, a stronger piece of storm energy will track near northern Colorado and this will increase our chances for more significant snowfall. Forecast models are still split about how close this storm energy will track and how much snow we'll receive. Some forecasts show just an inch or two of snow while other forecasts bring 6+ inches. Keep your eye on the snow stake cameras on Sunday night into Monday morning as there could be some powder by Monday morning's first chair.
For next week, Monday will be mostly cloudy and dry (once Sunday night's snow showers move away), and Tuesday should be mostly sunny and dry. Temperatures on Monday and Tuesday should rise to around 30 degrees.
Then from Wednesday, December 28 to at least Wednesday, January 4, we will see a stormy weather pattern across the west coast and the Rockies and this should bring us multiple days of snow. While I have higher confidence that we'll see new snow on Wednesday, December 28, I have near zero confidence about each day's weather after that. Stay tuned as we (try to) figure out the details.
