Snow chances begin on Friday

Summary

The dry and cool weather will continue through Thursday, with snow possible from Friday through early next week.

Update

Happy New Year!

Monday will be dry and partly cloudy with a high temperature in the 20s.

Tuesday and Wednesday will also be dry with a high temperature in the 20s. We will likely see more sunshine these days.

Thursday will continue our streak of dry weather with a high temperature in the 20s. And there will be more clouds on this day.

From Thursday night to Friday, a storm tracking to the south of Colorado should deliver a few snow showers with light snow accumulations. Friday will be cooler with a high temperature in the teens.

On Saturday, a storm to our north may clip Colorado and this could deliver additional snow showers. Again, high temperatures will be in the teens.

On Sunday and Monday, January 7-8, a storm will split with most of the energy tracking to the south of Colorado. This system will likely bring light snow accumulations of 1-6 inches mostly from later Sunday into early Monday. High temperatures on both days should be in the teens.

Then our next chances for snow should be around Thursday, January 11, and again perhaps around Sunday, January 14 to Monday, January 15. While I have low confidence in snowfall amounts during this time, I have pretty high confidence that temperatures will be colder than average with highs in the single digits and teens.
