Snow Wednesday and Thursday
Summary
Snow will fall for most of Wednesday, Wednesday night, and early on Thursday, so get ready for more powder.
Update
Tuesday was mostly sunny, and the mid-mountain snow stake was dry on Wednesday at 5 am.
However, snow is starting to fall as I type this at around 7 am on Wednesday, and we'll see snow all day on Wednesday, perhaps a lull on Wednesday evening, then more snow on Thursday morning through Thursday midday.
Total snowfall should be in the 10-18 inch range, with 5-10 inches on Wednesday, maybe 2-5 inches on Wednesday night, and another 2-5 inches on Thursday. This storm has a lot of moisture, and sometimes this can lead to higher-than-expected snow totals.
The best powder should be on Wednesday afternoon as well as on Thursday morning through midday. On Thursday morning, winds could become gusty, and this might affect the snow quality in more exposed areas.
Temperatures on both Wednesday and Thursday will be in the teens to low 20s.
Friday and Saturday
On Friday, clouds and maybe a few snowflakes could hang around, and then Saturday should be dry with partly to mostly cloudy skies. The high temperature on both days will be in the upper 20s.
Sunday, January 21 to Saturday, January 27
A storm to the southwest of Colorado will push clouds and snow showers over the state for most of next week. I have low confidence in the timing of the snow, and overall, I think snow amounts will be on the lower side. Temperatures will be reasonably warm with daily highs in the 20s.
