Some snow through Saturday night, then dry from Sunday into next week

Summary

From Friday morning through Saturday night, we could see a few inches of additional snow, and then we'll head into a dry period for most of next week before more snow returns during the following week.

Update

Thursday

Thursday started with the 6-8 inches of snow that fell on Wednesday night, and then we saw snow showers and a few additional inches of snow during the day on Thursday. On Thursday night, the snow stopped and we did not measure additional accumulation.

Friday

On Friday morning, a storm is over southern Colorado, and it now looks unlikely that meaningful snow from this system will make it farther north of our area.

During the day on Friday, we might see some snow showers as this storm moves away, and accumulations should be light. Friday's temperatures will be in the teens.

Friday Night to Saturday Night

The next storm will not take a favorable track for us, but we should still see some snow showers with light accumulations, perhaps a few inches. These showers could fall anytime from Friday night through Saturday night, and I think that the best chance for a few inches of accumulation will be from Saturday afternoon to Saturday night. Then any lingering snow will end by Sunday morning. Temperatures will be in the teens on Saturday and then drop close to 0°F on Sunday morning.

Sunday, February 11 to Saturday, February 17

We will see mostly dry and mostly sunny weather from Sunday through the following Saturday (February 11-17). A storm tracking close to Colorado may bring more clouds and snow showers later in the week, around Friday, February 16. Temperatures on Sunday and Monday will be in the teens, and then temperatures from Tuesday to Saturday should be in the 20s.

Longer Range

There is rather high agreement among many longer-range forecast models that multiple storms will bring snow to Colorado between Sunday, February 18, and Saturday, February 24. This is good news as it means our upcoming dry spell will only last for about one week, and then we'll get back on the storm train.

My next update will be Saturday morning.
