Steamboat Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Steamboat Daily Snow

Here on Tuesday morning we’re once again experiencing a temperature inversion. This means that temperatures are colder at lower elevations (0F in town) and warmer up on the mountain (about 20F at the summit). Dress in layers that you can remove as the very cold morning temperatures at the base should warm into the upper 20s to low 30s around midday.

Looking at the snow forecast for the next six days, I see three periods of potential snowfall. The first will be on Wednesday night when a storm to our south could throw a few inches of snow in our direction. Thursday morning could offer nice conditions with a couple of inches on top of the groomers. Then we could see a bit more snow on Friday, and third, I am cautiously excited for the chance of a moderate powder day on Sunday or Monday morning as a storm swings through from the northwest.
