Steamboat Daily Snow

By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 7 years ago December 3, 2017
Update
Sunday will start out dry and partly sunny, then we'll see a few snow showers on Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday night, expect a better chance for snow after about 7 pm, with a few hours of intense snow as a cold front pushes through right around Sunday at midnight.
Then snow showers should continue on-and-off through the day on Monday. These snow showers on Monday could add a few more inches to the storm total because the wind will blow from the west and this is a favorable direction for Steamboat. If you want to ski fresh snow, Monday is your day. Expect 4-8 inches and dress warmly as high temperatures will be in the teens.
Next Tuesday through Friday will be mostly dry and cold, with temperatures low enough for snowmaking to potentially go on 24/7. This might lead to additional terrain opening. There's a chance for very light snow on Wednesday and Thursday, though accumulations will be light to nothing.
Unfortunately, it appears that the weather pattern will stay dry through at least December 12th and likely longer. I will let you know when I see the possibility of our next major snowstorm.
Stay tuned for daily updates, and thanks for reading!
