Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Steamboat Daily Snow

Update

Now on Tuesday morning, the base temperature is -5F, the mid-mountain temperature is 15F, and the summit temperature is 7F. This is called a temperature inversion, where you’ll find the coldest temperature at the base of the mountain, and this often happens when we have nights with clear skies and light winds. Don’t worry about the cold as mostly sunny skies will allow the temperature to rise into the 20s by midday Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the weather will continue to be dry. High temperatures will be in the mid-30s during these days, and as the next storm approaches, expect more clouds on Thursday and Friday.

A significant storm should hit Steamboat from early Saturday through Sunday midday. On Saturday, it’s likely that it will be snowing while you’re skiing, and with the snow continuing on Saturday night, you should find fresh snow again on Sunday morning. I think the best chance for skiing powder will be Sunday morning, and total snowfall should be in the 6-12 inch range. Temperatures on Sunday will be cold (single digits) which means that you'll want to pack warmer clothes for the weekend.

Following the weekend storm, we should see dry weather on Sunday night, then additional light-to-moderate snow is likely next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
