Late week storms favor Colorado & British Columbia
Summary
The weather pattern will turn more active over the second half of the week across portions of the West, while the East remains in a quiet pattern. A storm on Thursday will impact the Southern Rockies with a good round of snow across Colorado, favoring the San Juans. A storm will also bring heavy snow to British Columbia on Thursday night & Friday with another storm to follow this weekend.
Short Term Forecast
Storms return to the West late this week
Storms over the next five days will favor British Columbia with the deepest totals, while the Washington/Oregon Cascades will also see moderate to heavy snow with lighter totals extending south into Tahoe. The Four Corners region will also see a storm late this week, with the San Juans in Colorado being favored.

Forecast for Wed, Mar 3 – Thu, Mar 4
The Northern British Columbia Coast Range will see heavy snow on Wednesday and Thursday before snow gradually spreads farther south by late Thursday. Farther south, a storm will in the Southern Rockies will bring a good round of snow to much of Colorado, with light to moderate amounts for portions of Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. A weak disturbance will bring some light snow showers and flurries to New England as well.
Forecast for Fri, Mar 5 – Sat, Mar 6
A storm will bring heavy snow to Southwest British Columbia on Friday with moderate snow for Washington & Oregon. Snow levels will be relatively high on Friday before falling on Saturday.
Snow will eventually spread east into the BC Interior and Alberta Rockies on Friday night & Saturday, and light snow will also extend south into Tahoe on Saturday. New England will continue to see some flurry activity on Friday before drying out on Saturday.
Forecast for Sun, Mar 7 – Mon, Mar 8
A weak storm will bring a quick round of snow to the Central Rockies on Sunday morning. Another storm will continue to bring snow to British Columbia & the Pacific Northwest on Sunday, then the action will shift farther south into Washington & Oregon by late in the day on Monday.
Extended Forecast
Outlook for Tue, Mar 9 – Sat, Mar 13
The storm track next week will favor California as well as the Central Rockies with multiple storms possible, while the Pacific Northwest & Northern Rockies should start to get back in on the action by late in the period. The pattern looks to remain quiet across the East with a warming trend expected.
