Next storms Saturday and Wednesday at Winter Park

Summary

Snow fell on Tuesday and Tuesday night and we’ll enjoy soft turns on Wednesday morning.

Short Term Forecast

Tuesday and Tuesday night worked a little better than we expected with snow showers during the midday, afternoon, and evening as the wind direction became more favorable and blew from the northwest. Total 24-hour snowfall from Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning was 4 inches at mid-mountain. About half of this fell on Tuesday night after lifts closed and will lead to soft and enjoyable turns now on Wednesday morning.

For Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, look for dry weather. Wednesday will be the sunniest day of the three and there will be more clouds on Thursday and Friday. For temperatures, expect highs in the 20s on Wednesday and in the 30s on Thursday and Friday.

Extended Forecast

The next storm will bring snow from Friday night through Saturday night. I’ll keep my forecast in the 2-6 inch range. The best chance for the softest conditions will be on Saturday morning and midday, though favorable winds from the west to the northwest on Saturday evening could keep snow going, and if this happens, then turns could be soft on Sunday morning as well.

Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday’s weather should be dry.

Then we will see snow start on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning with a possible powder day on Wednesday, February 3rd. It’s likely that snow showers and cold temperatures will stick around between February 3-7, though I have zero confidence about how much snow could fall during this time.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
