Saturday powder likely at Winter Park
Summary
Friday will be a mixed day with some showers, some clouds, and some sunshine. Then snow on Friday night will bring soft turns and a low-to-moderate amount of powder for Saturday morning.
Short Term Forecast
Thursday was a beautiful day with morning clouds and showers giving way to sunny skies.
Friday will be a day that we see a bit of everything as a weak storm moves over northern Colorado. We could see times of clouds, times of showers, gusty winds at the summit, and also times of sunshine with high temperatures in the teens to low 20s.
From Friday night through Saturday morning, a band of steady snow will deliver 2-6 inches and this snow should be fresh and available for Saturday morning’s first chair (there could be some snow that accumulates after the 500am snow report, so be sure to check the snow stake cam).
Then, following a potential lull in the snow on Saturday morning, we could see snow showers redevelop during Saturday midday and afternoon and these showers could drop anything from 0-4 inches and we’ll just need some luck to be on our side to see the higher totals.
Extended Forecast
Sunday will bring sunny and dry weather with high temperatures in the teens.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be sunny and dry as well with high temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s.
Our next chance for snow could be around Thursday, March 4th. This storm will likely be weak and may not even track through Colorado, but if we get lucky and the system takes a track closer to or over Colorado, then we might see some flakes.
After that, our next chance for snow will be around Sunday, March 7th.
