Weekend snow at Winter Park

Summary

There is no major change to the forecast. We’ll see snow from Saturday through Sunday. Sunday should be the best chance for a fun powder day. More snow should arrive on Tuesday into Wednesday.

Short Term Forecast

Friday turned out to be a lovely day with warm temperatures and mostly sunny skies and just some more clouds later in the day.

Now on Saturday morning, the storm is approaching, but snow has not yet started and this is what we expected.

From Saturday late morning through Saturday afternoon, we will start to see snow.

Then from Saturday night through Monday morning, we will see on-then-off periods of intense snow with 20-35 inches of accumulation. The best chance to enjoy powder should be on Sunday. Also, snow showers should continue through Monday mid-morning, so don’t discount getting out early on Monday as you could find new snow on top of the soft snow that was tracked on Sunday.

Monday afternoon and Monday night should be dry.

Then the next storm will bring snow from Tuesday morning/midday through Wednesday morning. I think 4-8 inches is a good spot to start the forecast for this storm and we’ll dial in the forecast range during the next few days. The best chance to enjoy the new snow will likely be Wednesday morning’s first chair.

Extended Forecast

From Wednesday afternoon through Saturday, March 20, we will see dry, warm, and springlike weather.

But winter will not go away just yet!

Looking further ahead, I expect that we’ll see another storm with snow for multiple days between Sunday, March 21, and Wednesday, March 24. We’ll be able to talk more about this storm as the time gets closer.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
