Friday freshies at Winter Park

Summary

Snow fell from late Thursday to early Friday and there should be 10+ inches to enjoy on Friday morning.

Short Term Forecast

Thursday was mostly dry, then the snow started to fall around 300pm. We saw 2 inches by 400pm, then an additional 9 inches fell between Wednesday afternoon at 400pm and Friday morning at 500am. That brings the 24-hour snow total to about 11 inches and this should make for some fun turns on Friday morning. Dress warmly as temperatures will be in the teens and low 20s throughout the day.

On Friday, Friday night, and Saturday, we could see additional snow showers but I am expecting accumulations to be on the light side.

On Sunday through Monday midday, we will see dry weather and high temperatures in the upper 20s to mid-30s.

Then the next storm will bring snow from Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning. We could see snow totals of 6+ inches by Tuesday morning, so keep your eye on Tuesday as a possible midweek powder morning.

Extended Forecast

All longer-range models show a high likelihood for cool weather and additional chances for snow through late April. Right now, it looks like the highest chances for storms will be around April 22 and April 27.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
