It was a spectacular weekend of skiing in the Mid-Atlantic with sun to the south and a couple of snow showers in NY. Monday will start dry and partly clear with a weak storm bringing a few rain and snow showers on Tuesday with a Trace-1 inch of snow in the northern Mid-Atlantic. The next storm moves in late Wednesday with rain changing to snow north and west by Thursday and into Friday.

Surf Alert hoisted for the summits of many BC mountains with significant totals likely above 5-6000 feet. Western BC grabs 3-4 feet of upper elevation dense snow, with the Interior landing in the 5-12 inch range. Cascades of Washington just grabbed 3-8 inches Saturday AM. Snow will move south on Sunday/Monday for Idaho, Montana, and the Tetons for 5-10 inches of snow. Tons of PNW water.

A series of strong storms involving subtropical moisture and warm air will impact the Northwest over the next week with heavy snow and rain. Many ski areas will deal with rain issues unfortunately, while higher terrain in BC and Alberta will be favored for deep totals. In the East, the pattern will quiet down a bit but the Great Lakes and Northern New England will see light snow showers.
