T-Storm Pattern Favors the Eastern Rockies & Interior Northwest

    1 day ago Alan Smith

A trough-dominant pattern will continue across the West during late July and early August with Pacific disturbances bringing showers & t-storms to the PNW and Northern Rockies. The Eastern Rockies will also be favored for t-storms as easterly flow increased behind a cold front. The monsoon will continue in a weakened state with the main impacts in New Mexico & Eastern Arizona.

Final Post of the 2024-2025 Season

Snowfall was slightly below average across Southern BC as a whole this season, though a handful of ski resorts came in just above average. Most areas also saw higher snowfall totals this winter compared to last winter. The season was book-ended with a strong start to the season in Nov-Dec and a strong finish to the season in March, while mid-winter (Jan-Feb) was much drier than normal.

Final Post of the 2024-2025 Season

    3 months ago Alan Smith

The winter of 2024-2025 featured near to above average snowfall across the Sierra, Central/Northern Rockies, and much of the East. Snowpack is currently melting at a faster rate than usual across much of the West due to warmer and drier conditions so far in April. Looking ahead, a storm will bring high-elevation snow showers to the Sierra & the Rockies from late this week through early next week.
