Dry for Christmas Day. Snow showers move in by early Thursday morning into the day. Snow Thursday night. Scattered rain & snow showers are possible Friday and Saturday. A final storm with falling snow levels and some snow for Sunday. Then a drier pattern starting on Monday.

Our pattern continues to stay dry for us. Over the next 7 - 10 days we will see a slight shift in the pattern that may favor cooler air but overall the expectation is for the dry forecast to continue through the 1st week of January...

A dry Christmas Day will push into a mostly dry Thursday of this week. By Thursday night into Friday morning, we will see another quick-hitting storm. Another quick break on Saturday before the final storm in the series pushes through on Sunday. Next week will be drier to start with a potential for weaker systems by next weekend.

An active pattern is setting up across the West for the holiday season with heavy snow for the Northwest in particular. Utah & Colorado will see frequent shots of light to moderate snow, while California and Oregon resorts will see both rain and snow with warmer air creeping in. The East will see a quiet pattern with a gradual warming trend, then colder air will arrive after the New Year.

Happy Christmas Eve! Santa is leaving the Sierra ahead of schedule. 5-10 inches fell over the Sierra Range on Tuesday. A potent storm is headed for the BC coast and will slam the PNW with several feet of snow, strong winds, and rising snow levels on Wednesday/Thursday. There are many red flags. The Rockies grab heavier snow from Friday to Sunday!
