Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Colorado Daily Snow

I'll get this out of the way right up front: I have no idea what's going to happen with the Wednesday/Thursday storm. Seriously. No idea. The models range from a raging snowstorm east of the divide with over a foot of snow to a quick and dry cold front on Wednesday with just a few inches west of the divide to pretty much anything in between.

What I do know is that the Pacific Northwest and Tahoe area will likely see 1-2+ feet of snow from Sunday through Tuesday. People in these areas are going crazy for the early storm...it's fun to feel the excitement of impending powder, even if it's not ours.

The storm will hang off the west coast through Tuesday, and how it moves east on Wednesday will determine how much snow Colorado gets. Because the storm is over the ocean for so long and because we have so few weather observations over the ocean (except for a few buoys and ships), the weather models can't forecast storms as well until they get over land. So it's possible that I won't have much confidence in the storm's forecast for Colorado until Sunday or Monday. I hate to say it, but it's true. Just reserve Wednesday/Thursday for cooling temperatures and some snow along and north of I-70.

Here's the storm's location on Tuesday:

I think this storm deserves a name and we had about 50 suggestions from yesterday's comments on The Colorado Daily Snow and on our Facebook post. How about "Elvira" keeping with the woman theme and halloween coming up?!
