Snow Recap
Snow continued to fall on Monday as the ski resorts picked up anywhere from a coating to up to 4-5 inches at Breckenridge, Winter Park, and Vail. This brings our snow totals since Saturday night up to 6-19 inches.
Tuesday - Wednesday
We're now catching a break on Tuesday morning ahead of our next round of snow from midday Tuesday through Wednesday morning. It currently feels more like mid-winter with the "feels like" temperature hovering near or below 0F.
We have a tricky forecast for the next round of snow on Tuesday and into Wednesday. It will be very hit-and-miss and any area could receive anywhere from 1-4+ inches through Wednesday morning. Keep an eye on the first chair on Wednesday morning for low-end powder potential.
Thursday
Much warmer temps and dry conditions flow into Colorado on Thursday. Expect partly sunny skies and temps climbing back into the 30s. This could be the only completely dry day through at least the middle of next week.
Thursday Night - Saturday
We then have another tricky forecast beginning on Thursday night as the models have been wavering on whether we'll only get clipped with light snow or if the storm will strengthen and deliver off-and-on heavy snow.
We'll continue to adjust over the next couple of mornings but as of now, expect increasing snowfall rates on Thursday night, with off-and-on snow and anywhere from 2-4+ inches through Saturday morning. This storm will also be on the warmer side so expect a dense snow quality and the potential for rain across the lower valley elevations.
Early Next Week & Beyond
Looking further ahead, we could catch another short break around the second half of Saturday and into Sunday ahead of yet another tricky forecast from late Sunday through next Tuesday, April 2.
My gut feeling based on the latest trends is that this storm will slide too far to the south to bring us the goods but as always, we'll see how it looks as we get closer. We'll then be tracking another storm around April 5-7.

NEW: Snow Ratio Forecast
You can now get a good idea of the upcoming snow quality for the next storm via our new "Snow Ratio" forecast for any location in OpenSnow.
When we talk about snow quality, such as “light and fluffy” or “heavy and wet”, we are talking about the snow-to-liquid ratio. The higher the snow-to-liquid ratio, the lighter the snow quality, and vice-versa.
- Go to any location screen and tap the "Snow Summary" tab.
- Scroll down to the 5-day hourly or 10-day forecast section.
- View the hourly or daily "Snow Ratio" forecast.
10:1 will be fun but will feel a little heavy.
15:1 will offer some faceshots and feel pretty light.
20:1 will be incredibly light, almost like skiing through nothing but air.
This new feature is currently available with the latest version of the OpenSnow app installed (App Store / Google Play > OpenSnow > Update) or via the OpenSnow website (OpenSnow.com).
