Freshy Friday, followed by dry weather through mid-December

Summary

Fresh snow for all areas on Friday morning. Mild temperatures and sunny skies return for the weekend and remain in place through at least next Friday, December 15th. There could then be a storm between December 16th and 18th, followed by more activity after December 20th. It's not all bad!

Short Term Forecast

Next update on Sunday, December 10th.

The latest system is exiting Colorado on Friday morning. All areas are reporting 1-4 inches for the Friday morning report, with up to 6 inches since Wednesday. Here are the 48-hour reports:

Arapahoe Basin: 4"

Beaver Creek: 1"

Breckenridge: 4"

Copper Mountain: 2"

Keystone: 6"

Loveland: 3"

Vail: 3"

Winter Park: 5"

All road surfaces from Vail through the foothills west of Denver are under a wet and icy mix on Friday morning, with snow-packed conditions along Berthoud, Loveland, and Vail Pass. Icy conditions will continue through Friday before all road surfaces become mostly clear and dry on Saturday. 

Sunny skies and temperatures in the high teens to low 20s will be the forecast for Friday. The groomers will be in fantastic shape so get out there if you can!

Mild temperatures and sunny skies continue for the weekend. Temperatures will rise into the low 30s each day, with overnight lows dropping back into the teens on Saturday and Sunday night.

Extended Forecast

Mild and dry weather remains in place through at least next Friday, December 15th. Mostly sunny skies will take hold each day, with daytime highs reaching into the 30s.

There will be no travel concerns from Saturday, December 9th through Sunday, December 16th.

Looking further ahead, there is now a system showing up between December 16th and 18th. Confidence is then rising in regards to additional storms after December 20th. Yes, it will be dry next week but storms are on the horizon for the second half of December.
