Cold with snow showers through Thursday then a change…

Summary

Snow just keeps coming down with the continuing northwest flow delivering cold air that produces heavy snow showers in selective mountain areas of both sides of the Divide. Since my last report on Friday evening there have been some impressive dumps - but also some disappointments as well. For instance, 2-day totals at Bridger Bowl were about 25” but at Big Sky only about 4”. Whitefish received about 18” since Saturday and Lost Trail about 5”. It must be said however that just about all Montana ski resorts had an amazing past week with most totaling around 20” with many in the 40” range (see photos from Whitefish below). Skiing across the Treasure State is prime right now and snow looks to continue coming down through the long term. Now for the forecasts…
