Northwest flow keeping things interesting.

Update

West of the Divide:

Northwest flow aloft is generating decent snowfall at Whitefish as well as Snowbowl and Lookout tonight. Expect up to 6” overnight at these places with snow likely to continue Saturday into midday with another inch or two possible. Sunday into MLK Monday brief high pressure builds in but cloudy skies and a few stray snow showers will override the ridge. Starting Tuesday next week, look for a return of more wet storms with the biggest trough of moisture looking like an arrival next weekend. Good news is that it's staying unsettled. La Nina' reigns her power.

East of the Divide:

Light snow will continue off and on tonight across most of the region with an inch or two possible by Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon should see clearing skies that look to get clearer through the middle of next week as Eastsider’s will be under the spell of high-pressure. Slowly building daytime temperatures will progress to above seasonal averages by Monday. Unsettled weather looks to likely return, but more towards the latter part of next week.
