Summary

A storm between February 23-25 will mostly miss New Mexico to the north, with only light snow for the extreme northern mountains. Then a stronger storm will bring snow from February 26-28 with powder days likely on Monday and Tuesday.

Short Term Forecast

Wednesday through Saturday of this week will be dry for most of New Mexico with light snow likely in the northern mountains on Thursday into Friday. During this time, the most snow will fall in central and northern Colorado due to a more northern storm track.

There could be a nice refresh on the groomers if a few inches of snow manages to accumulate on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning, but I do not expect big-time powder.

Extended Forecast

A much more interesting series of storms should bring snow to New Mexico between Sunday and Tuesday, February 26-28. These storms will take a more southern track, so snowfall amounts in northern New Mexico could be greater than 12 inches, with the best powder days on Monday and especially Tuesday.

Stay patient for a few more days … powder will return soon!
