Update

Thursday was a gorgeous day with bluebird skies and high temperatures that topped out in the 30s.

Friday and Saturday will also be dry and warm with temperatures likely making it into the upper 30s to low 40s. We will see high-and-mid-level clouds filtering the sunshine at times each day. These clouds will move into Colorado well in advance of our next storm, which will arrive late in the weekend.

Sunday and Monday will be when we’ll see our next storm. Expect a few showers on Sunday with a better chance for a period of steady snow on Sunday night into Monday. This storm will be warm with raindrops likely at the base on Sunday afternoon, then temperatures will cool on Sunday night into Monday morning so that the entire mountain will see snowflakes. I think 2-5 inches is a reasonable estimate, and the best chance to enjoy some fresh snow will be on Monday morning. With this storm bringing a lot of moisture, we could get lucky and get hit by a stronger cell that could produce deeper snow totals, though we should keep our expectations to the 2-5 inch range.

Monday afternoon through Tuesday should be dry.

From Wednesday to Thursday we will have another chance for snow. This was the storm that we were thinking would arrive later in the week, and it might speed up by about a day. If this timing holds, then our best chance for enjoying additional powder would likely be on Thursday.

Looking out into the long-range of March 13th and beyond, there will be more chances for storms, and colder air will be lingering just to our west. If we can get this colder air to move east and hit Colorado, it might lead to a significant mid-month storm.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
