Copper Mountain Daily Snow
By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 7 months ago March 27, 2024
Powder, snow showers ending, more snow coming
Summary
The snow showers on Tuesday and Tuesday night produced 2 inches of snow, so there will be soft snow on Wednesday morning.
Update
Tuesday & Tuesday Night
On Tuesday and Tuesday night, we expected to see snow showers, and the snow showers wound up producing 2 inches at mid-mountain, with about half of this snow falling on Tuesday night.
Wednesday
Wednesday morning will offer fluffy and soft conditions, and snow showers could continue through midday with light additional accumulation. Temperatures will be in the teens and rise to about 20°F by the afternoon.
Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon
We'll see dry weather from Wednesday evening through most of Thursday. Temperatures will rise into the upper 20s to low 30s on Thursday, and we should see partly sunny skies.
Thursday night through the weekend
A complex series of storms will bring periods of snow from Thursday night through Sunday and maybe into early the following week. These storms will be warmer, with thicker snow quality and temperatures in the upper 20s to the low 30s.
The best chances for snow will be Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night, and maybe Sunday night through Monday night. Total snowfall could be 10+ inches, but I have low confidence in the forecast details, so we'll take it one day at a time and hope that we'll experience multiple days of powder or at least soft snow.
Longer Range
We should see drier weather from Tuesday night, April 2 through Thursday, April 4. Then from April 5-10, multiple storms could track close to or through Colorado, bringing more late-season snow.
My next update will be Thursday morning.
