Monday
Conditions are holding up nicely and the little refreshes (such as the 2 inches on Sunday morning) have been helpful.
Monday will be partly sunny and warmer with a high of around 30°F.
Tuesday
Good news!
Instead of staying mostly north of Colorado, the storm on Tuesday should track farther to the south and this will bring snow from Tuesday mid-morning through Tuesday evening. I expect 1-3 inches of snow on Tuesday, and there's a chance that amounts could be higher.
The best time to enjoy the new snow will be from Tuesday mid-morning through Tuesday afternoon, and the high temperature will be in the 20s.
Some snow may continue to fall into the evening, and if this happens, then conditions on Wednesday morning will also be soft.
Wednesday to Sunday
Wednesday through Sunday will be dry and warmer with a high temperature in the 30s.
Christmas Week & Beyond
During Christmas week, there will be three chances for snow.
- December 23: A storm could bring a few flakes as it mostly tracks to our north.
- December 25-26: This storm has a somewhat higher chance of delivering more snow, but it's still 10 days away, so my confidence is low.
- December 28-30: This storm has a higher chance of delivering a lot of snow as most of the longer-range forecast models show the system.
While we've seen little snow during the past three weeks, we have a solid base thanks to snowfall in late November, and the low sun angle of December will continue to preserve our snowpack, so we're in an okay spot and conditions are holding up nicely. Still, I can't wait for more snow to fall (hopefully) later this month.
