Monday

The storm played out as expected on Sunday night and only delivered very light snow to areas along and east of the divide, including 1 inch at Eldora and 2 inches at Loveland. The storm tracked just pushed too far south for anything to fall along the rest of the mountain corridor.

We'll now receive mostly dry weather for the rest of Monday, with temps climbing into the teens to low 20s by early Monday afternoon. The sun could make a longer appearance during the afternoon hours.

Tuesday - Thursday

The middle of the week from Tuesday through Thursday will feature cold and unsettled weather, with chances for light and fluffy snow each day. Mostly cloudy skies and single-digit temps will make this feel like a very cold couple of days but off-and-on light snow should keep nice ski conditions in place.

Keep an eye on Tuesday night and into Wednesday for a slight uptick in snowfall rates, with total snow accumulations ranging anywhere from 1-6 inches from Tuesday morning through Thursday.

Travel Forecast

A few slick and snowy road surfaces could be encountered through Monday, especially near and east of the Eisenhower Tunnel. Give yourself a bit of extra travel time from Denver through Georgetown.

A mix of slick and snowy road surfaces follow from Tuesday through Thursday as very cold temps settle in and off-and-on light snow falls along I-70. Travel impacts should be minor on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday but plan to give yourself a bit of extra travel time each day.

Mostly dry road surfaces should prevail by Friday and into Saturday ahead of more wet, slick, and snowy road surfaces around Sunday, January 29.

Extended Forecast

Friday & Beyond

Slighter warmer temps and mostly dry weather should prevail on Friday and continue into Saturday, January 28. Expect partly sunny skies on Friday and Saturday, with temps climbing back into the teens to low 20s.

We'll then be keeping an eye on two stormier periods as we close out January and head into early February.

The first chance for heavier snow will arrive around Sunday, January 29 and into Monday, January 30. It's still too early to provide any details but it looks interesting.

The second chance for stormier weather and deeper snow potential will arrive sometime between February 3-8. This is still fantasy land territory but the longer-range models continue to show something around this time. Better than nothing at all.
