Spring Skiing for Early February
Summary
Idaho will be sandwiched between a couple powerhouse weather features well through the next week. A ridge of high pressure will put on the squeeze from the west, while a strong trough of low pressure over the Great Lakes will dig its heels in. That leaves us in a relatively persistent pattern with very little change. There are 2 wildcards in the mix. Besides a slight chance of light snow showers on Friday, we could get a Superbowl Surprise if the eastern trough decides to 'retrograde' and spill through the mountain passes of Western Montana into Central Idaho. That could deliver a touchdown of snow and colder air for us, but I'm not banking on it.
