Summary

The first wave of a new storm system hitting Idaho Friday morning is bringing a surge of 3-7" of new snow in N. Idaho and light snow of 1-2" elsewhere. Cold temperatures will warm up during the day. And then a messy sub-tropical weather system will plow into N. Idaho by Saturday morning, mixing with the Arctic air, and bringing a wintry mix with elevated snow levels through Christmas Day.
