May Snow

Summary

Cold winter like weather stick around through Wednesday before a prolonged warmer and drier period begins on Thursday. The true spring like and early summer weather will last through most of next week if not longer. Sunny days and warmer temps will be the name of the game...

Short Term Forecast

Tuesday - Wednesday Snow Showers

I wanted to provide a quick update on our snow showers.

Looks like the summit has already picked up 2 inches of snow! Main Lodge is showing an inch.

I'm still expecting the snow showers to continue throughout the day and into tomorrow. Looking at the webcams it's looking might snowy out there this morning. Additional amounts could be in the 2 - 3 inch range fo the summit along with another 1 - 3 inches for Main Lodge.

Like I mentioned yesterday the pop up snow showers are difficult to nail down amounts wise. There's always a chance a strong showers comes through and drops 2 inches quickly.... but I can't plan for that. Either way enjoy the fresh turns out there today into tomorrow. Temps will be cold in the teens and 20's with breezy conditions throughout today with a slight warmup into the low 30's by tomorrow. Winds will be out of Southwest today and then out of the Northwest to North tomorrow gusting up to 40 MPH.

Thursday - Weekend

The outlook is still for warming temps, clearing skies, and low winds going into the weekend. We'll go from the 30's to the 40's and then into the mid 50's and maybe even low 60's if some of the warmest models are right by Saturday. The weather will be sunny, warm, and summer like!

Extended Forecast

Next Week

It's still looking dry going into next week with temperatures moderating back into the 40's during the week with maybe slightly increased winds out of the West and Southwest.

Overall though, spring weather is coming into play after our bout with winter the last few days. Enjoy it along with the final weeks of the season!
