Powder and Winds
Summary
The storm that brought an estimated 7 to 10 inches on Mammoth Mt, rapidly moved out over the Great Basin on Sunday night. In the wake of the trough's passing was a strong NW flow aloft that continues at this time, thus is will be a windy day over Mammoth Mt on Monday. Winds will slowly diminish and back more from the west, Tuesday into Wednesday. At the same time, the upper jet retreats to the Pacific Northwest as a zonal flow (west-to-east) pattern sets up. Temps will moderate greatly Wednesday into Thursday with highs near 50 at resort levels, lows in the 20's.
