Cold and Dry for the first week of December

Summary

A complex weather system is exiting the state today leaving behind a few surprises: 8” at Whitefish and Big Sky where we had anticipated less and just an inch or two for Lookout, Lost Trail and Red Lodge where we forecasted more. November was a good one for Montana’s ski areas/resorts with Big Sky breaking it’s all time November snowfall record with 76”. Early season conditions are better than average across most of the Treasure State heading into December. Looking ahead into this first week of December it looks like cold temps and dry conditions will be around for awhile – with the exception of a weak wave of moisture moving through on Wednesday.
