Mixed Bag Northern Rockies Weekend Forecast -

Update

WEST of the Continental Divide:

The weak trough of low-pressure is still on track to bring clouds into the region on Saturday but no accumulating snow to speak of. High temps on Saturday will be around 40. Saturday night through the day on Sunday will see a cold front take over the region with snow showers that look to maybe bring an inch at Lost Trail, Snowbowl and Disco. Maybe a skiff  elsewhere but temps will be about 5-10 degrees colder on Sunday. High-pressure returns for Monday with high temps back to around 40 before unsettled spring showery conditions return for mid-week. Looking at a Canadian cold-front type of storm possibility for next weekend. Wouldn’t that be a great way to start the end the season...

EAST of the Continental Divide:

It’s springtime and the forecasts get really challenging – especially on the Eastside. Changes once again, Saturday now looks to be a sunny/cloudy mix with a few snow showers and even a rattle of thunder (Big Sky) during the afternoon. Highs will range from 38- 42 across the region. Saturday night into Sunday a cold front will bring snow showers across the SW areas but with lesser than anticipated accumulations with maybe…1-2” at Big Sky and Red Lodge by end of day on Sunday. Elsewhere in the region, a skiff to an inch at Bridger, Showdown and Great Divide are possible. High-pressure builds Monday for mostly sunny skies before the clouds and snow showers return for Tuesday into mid-week. Check back for info on the possibility of  a cold-snow event next weekend.
