Sunny skies, Cold temps through Saturday then the “Flow” returns…

Update

West of the Divide:

Tuesday’s storm produced some decent snowfall with 5-10” across the Big Mountain (Whitefish Mountain Resort) with 4-6” at Discovery. Snowbowl and Lost Trail each received around 2-4”. It will stay dry and sunny until Saturday evening with daytime temps staying below freezing through most of the period. Friday afternoon may creep above 32 up high, above valley inversions. Clouds return Saturday evening on a NW flow and will signal the start to an extended period of below average temps and daily chances of measurable mountain snowfall. Stay tuned this weekend for updates on this winter like pattern change.

East of the Divide:

Storm totals as of Wednesday afternoon ranged from 3-6” across Lone Mountain (Big Sky) with 2-4” at Bridger and Red Lodge with around an inch at Great Divide.  Sunny skies and cold temps look to last into Sunday. Temps have already fired up the snowmakers at Big Sky and GD and should stay cold enough for snowmaking into Saturday (depending on elevation of course). The forecast models are still in agreement for a winter pattern of embedded systems in a strong NW flow starting Saturday night. From Sunday through Thanksgiving Day there looks to be daily chances for widespread measurable snow and below average temps. Keep Ullr happy --
