Arctic Cold meets Southwest Flow
Summary
Wind and frigid Arctic cold temperatures, 20 degrees below seasonal norms, will prevail through Thursday. Early season skiers and riders will need to be vigilant to cover any exposed skin to keep from developing frostbite. Off and on snow showers will be scattered across all mountain regions with perhaps 1-3” by Thursday morning. Thursday night a warm southwesterly flow will override the cold air resulting in periods of heavy snow for Thursday night through Saturday. The mountains west of the Continental Divide should receive the brunt of this storm but the southwestern mountains on the east side may also see some moderate accumulations.
