Coldest Air of the Season - Be Prepared.
Summary
The Canadian invasion of frigid air has arrived and will unfortunately be with us in the Northern Rockies through this Saturday. This past weekend’s passing front brought impressive snow to Whitefish (10”) and Lookout Pass (8”) but left most other areas, West and East of the Divide with only 2-3”. Clear skies and dangerously cold temperatures hovering below and just above 0 will greet hearty skiers and riders this week on Montana’s ski mountains. On Sunday the arctic trend looks to break with the arrival of a warm Southwesterly flow that both models agree looks to have decent snowfall potential.
