Storm Cycle Returns for the Weekend thru next Week

Summary

Although 48-hour snow totals have favored resorts West of the Divide, resorts on the northern/central end of the East side of the Continental Divide have done surprisingly well with Teton Pass at 12” and Showdown about 15”. Back to the West, since Tuesday Whitefish picked up 20”, Lookout 19”, Snowbowl 12” and Lost Trail 9”. Expect the West to dry out and warm up a tad Thursday and Friday before heading back into a snowy cycle Saturday thru the extended long term period. The East side once again looks to miss out on most of the moisture being pumped in by a large Pacific low-pressure system on Saturday but Sunday could see widespread light snow in the 4-8” range (Big Sky) with a continued snow-showery pattern into next week.
