Rough conditions ahead

Summary

The South Island faces rough conditions today, likely causing resort closures as a front brings 10-20cm of snow to the upper slopes before weakening. Another front will reach Mt Ruapehu by Tuesday afternoon, bringing heavy rain, severe gales, and a bit of snow. The weather is expected to settle by Wednesday and Thursday, with snow totals reaching 5-10cm.
