Summary

The Southern Lakes received 15-27cm of snow on Tuesday, making Wednesday a standout day, while Mt Hutt and Canterbury resorts got about 10cm, and Mt Ruapehu saw a light dusting. Thursday will be rough with rain and snow, turning to heavier snow in Canterbury by Friday, adding 20-40cm. More snow is expected from another front arriving late Saturday.
