New snowfall continues

Summary

The snow level will drop a little Sunday and drop a little more on Monday. Both Sunday and Monday will have 3-8” of new snow. I favor Monday with better quality snow, as the snow level drops a bit.

Short Term Forecast

Sunday, you’ll be skiing with new snow, but the snow level will be right at the lower slopes 3,500 to 4,000ft. That means it will be a little grabby and wet at the base.  Most of the snowfall will be falling on the mid and upper slopes – the higher you go the better the quality...and quantity! The snow level will drop on Monday to 3000-3,500ft , for improving quality and another shot of snow.

Extended Forecast

The rest of the week will see a spilt west-north-west flow. Tuesday may see light snow (2-4”) But, the rest of the week will see a mix of mostly dry and sometimes sunny weather, with a few flurries mixed in. No significant snowfall is expected. The snowpack is getting mushy and thin, down on the lower slopes, is expected this late in the ski season. However, the snow pack on the mid and upper slopes of the Cascades is above normal – deepest of the season.
