Around 10 - 20 cm fell over the last few days in the central zone though reports have been hard to come by. We lose another two resorts for the season this weekend, Chapelco and Antillanca, leaving just Corralco, Valle Nevado, and Volcan Osorno still open for turns in the central zone. Cerro Perito Moreno in the southern zone is closing this weekend as well. 

We’ll see some light snow on Friday with up to 10 cm possible around Corralco. The storm will move out Friday night and we’ll enter a dry stretch of weather. Temperatures will warm up on Saturday and continue to climb through the middle of next week. Spring ski conditions will return this weekend and remain through at least Tuesday. 

In the GIF below you can see several days where the storms steer clear of the central and northern zones before rain returns to the region around the middle of next week. 

The models have trended warmer for next week's storm with a transition to snow looking less likely. This doesn't look like a major storm, but at this time of year and with warm temperatures, some damage will be done to the already dwindling snowpack. Overall the pattern looks dry in the long range.

Next update on early next week. I will continue posting while resorts remain open but less frequently unless there’s snow in the forecast.
