Southern California Daily Snow
By Mike Korotkin, Meteorologist Posted 3 months ago November 30, 2023
A weak system passes through today, Thursday. Accumulations will be hard to come by. Dry weather prevails over the weekend into next week. Temperatures will increase next week and it will feel less like December. Our next chance for snow is likely 7+ days out.
I'm going to keep this post short and sweet. Mostly because I honestly just can't keep talking in detail about how weak and uninteresting this storm will be. At least Mtn. High opens today for its pass holders!
Thursday Snow Showers Possible
We still have a small chance of seeing some snow showers later this afternoon into the evening across the region. It will definitely feel colder today with stronger winds over the ridges up to 35 MPH out of the West.
The likelihood of any resort actually measuring a full inch is low, so I'm still going with a forecast that calls for a dusting to an inch of snow across the region.
Dry Weather Beyond
I've said it before and I'll say it here now.. we're not going to see much if anything in the way of precip all of this next week. The GFS Ensemble runs forecast speaks for itself:
It shows the very weak system coming through later today, into tonight. And it shows pretty much bone dry weather all of the weekend and into next week. There was a chance the pattern might open up more after next week, but looking at that plot that hardly seems the case.
It's a slow start to the year and that's what we've been expecting. I'll keep you posted.
Till the next one... Mike out.
