Update

Monday morning powder

The snow arrived on Sunday night as expected and we are waking up to 6 inches at mid-mountain and 9 inches on the summit snow stake camera. Enjoy the fresh powder on this final morning of 2019!

For the rest of the day on Monday, the wind should switch to blow from the east, which will likely keep any additional accumulations on the lighter side. The wind from the east could also lead to gusty conditions late on Monday afternoon and on Monday night.

Tuesday through Saturday

We will see dry and sunny weather for the start of 2019. Tuesday will be the coldest day of this stretch with high temperatures in the single digits. Wednesday should warm into the teens, then we’ll see highs in the 20s and 30s from Thursday through Saturday.

Next chance for snow

The forecasts are holding steady with the expectation that a plume of moisture will move into Colorado from the southwest and this should bring snow back into the forecast for Sunday and Monday, January 6-7. This could be a warmer storm with snow that is thicker and heavier than normal. No matter, we’ll always take the flakes and the moisture!

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
