Update

Opening Day is scheduled for Friday, November 15th!

Here is a list of terrain and lifts that will be open: https://www.steamboat.com/things-to-do/events/steamboat-opening-day

Tuesday morning’s temperatures dropped into the teens, or about 10-15 degrees cooler than Monday morning, and this allowed crews to make snow in an efficient temperature range. We’ll celebrate these wins as we wait for the next storm.

For the rest of the week, look for dry weather through Friday with highs in the 30s and nighttime lows in the mid-to-upper 20s (marginal snowmaking conditions). Skies should be mostly sunny through Thursday with more clouds for opening day on Friday.

The next storm should bring snow from Saturday through Saturday night and will likely deliver accumulations in the 1-4 inch range. There are some scenarios that show higher totals and I’ll let you know if the storm does trend stronger, though I like to keep my expectations on the conservative side so not as to over promise and under deliver. The timing of this storm means that you’ll likely be skiing in the snow on Saturday, with a chance for somewhat softer conditions on Sunday morning.

For next week, all models show that a southern and a northern storm will head into the western United States, though it’s unclear whether these storms will combine and bring potentially significant snow to Colorado during the middle of the week, or if the storms will stay separate and not bring much snow to Colorado. It’ll be fun to watch these systems evolve and, of course, I’ll keep you updated!

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
