Update

Opening Day is scheduled for Friday, November 15th!

Here is a list of what to expect on Friday:

https://www.steamboat.com/things-to-do/events/steamboat-opening-day

The weather on Thursday and Friday will be dry with more sun on Thursday, more clouds on Friday, and Friday will be the warmer of the two days with afternoon high temperatures in the 40s.

We have been looking ahead to the likelihood of snow on Saturday. Yesterday’s model runs showed the storm coming in a little stronger. Today’s model runs show the storm coming in a little weaker. I’ll stick with my 1-4 inch forecast, and if the storm does pan out, the timing of the snow should be from Saturday sunrise through Saturday afternoon.

In the wake of Saturday’s storm, Sunday’s weather will be a sunny and cooler with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Looking ahead to next week, a slow-moving storm over the southwestern United States will likely bring snow to Colorado late in the week with the best chances on Thursday and Friday, November 21-22. I am excited that we will likely see a storm, though I have no confidence in the details of this system.

Looking 10+ days away, most models show another storm during the week of November 25-29.

I am optimistic that both of these systems will bring snow to at least some part of Colorado, and that overall, the last two weeks of November will be much more active than the first two weeks of the month.
