Update

Now on Tuesday morning, we’ll start with temperatures in the 20s at the base and 30s at mid-mountain. Afternoon highs should be in the 40s with partly-to-mostly cloudy skies as moisture increases ahead of the upcoming storm.

The next storm will be a slow mover with snow possible for nearly three days from Tuesday night through Friday.

On Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, we could see a few showers but nothing significant. Then a burst of intense snow should fall on Wednesday afternoon and amounts could range from 1-4 inches depending on our luck seeing (or not seeing) a few stronger cells track over the mountain. Also, temperatures will be warm, so the base could see raindrops while mid-mountain should be all snow.

From late Wednesday night to Thursday, another round of intense snow could fall, and again, accumulations should be roughly 1-4 inches and we’ll need some luck to get the deeper amounts.

Then from Thursday night into Friday, a final round of snow should deliver another few inches, and temperatures will be colder so the snow quality will be a little lighter and snow will fall all the way to the base.

Total snowfall from Wednesday through Friday should be 4-10 inches. Since the storm’s setup (with winds from the south) does not favor Colorado’s northern mountains, I want to keep my expectations low, but a few bursts of heavier snow could push our multi-day snow total closer to 10 inches.

Following this storm, I am still expecting dry weather for the weekend of November 23-24.

Then all longer-range models continue to show multiple colder storms during the week of Thanksgiving and into early December. This is good news and I’ll keep you updated as the time gets closer.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
