Update

Thursday did not offer much snow.

On Thursday night, the wind direction shifted to blow from the west and northwest, and as expected, this set up a more favorable environment and helped the atmosphere produce more significant snow on Thursday night into Friday.

The official 24-hour snow report on Friday morning shows 5 inches, with almost all of this accumulating on Thursday night. Expect continued light snow on Friday morning with another few inches of accumulation.

Saturday and Sunday will be dry. Soak up the sunshine on Saturday and look for more clouds on Sunday.

Then the fun will return with two storms next week.

The first storm will bring significant snow from Monday through Tuesday. My early estimate is for 5-10 inches with possible powder on Monday afternoon and/or Tuesday morning. The snow quality will be fluffy with temperatures in the teens.

The second storm from Wednesday to Friday will stay well to the southwest of Colorado and will likely lead to warmer temperatures and just light waves of precipitation. It may not be until the following weekend (Sat, Nov 30 – Sun, Dec 1) that the storm finally makes it to Colorado and this could be when we would see significant snow.

Looking ahead to early December, the western US should stay stormy, though that’s too far into the future to offer a specific snow forecast.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
