Update

The last storm brought a burst of 1 inch of snow on Tuesday morning then the rest of Tuesday was partly to mostly cloudy.

Wednesday should be dry, then the next storm will bring snow from Wednesday night through Thursday midday. Forecasts for this system have always shown lots of moisture, which is a necessary ingredient for decent snow totals, and the latest forecasts now bring more energy into northern Colorado, so chances are now greater for us to see more significant snow totals. I’ll increase my forecast to 2-6 inches, with 8 inches not being out of the question. The timing of the storm means that you’ll likely find the best snow from Thursday mid-morning through early afternoon. Due to warm-ish temperatures in the 20s, the snow quality will be on the thicker side, and this is fine as it should nicely soften any harder base surface.

After the storm, Thursday night through Saturday will be dry.

Then we’ll see a chance for snow from late Saturday night through Monday night. This storm will have less moisture but be stronger than the Thursday system and my early thought is that we’ll see 4-8 inches with the best chance for softer powder on Monday morning.

After that, we could see another storm sometime between Thursday, December 12 and Monday, December 16th. Unfortunately, the trend has been to push this storm a bit too far to the east to bring us significant snow. I’ll cross my fingers that this trend reverses and will keep you posted.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
