Sunday turned out to be a mostly cloudy day as we expected. If it’s not going to snow I think most of us prefer sunshine over clouds, but unfortunately, we cannot control the weather. The high temperature on Sunday ranged from about 20-30°F across the mountain.

Monday will start will full sunshine and high temperatures will rise into the mid-30s. By midday and afternoon, we’ll see more clouds thanks to the next storm moving in from the west.

This next system will bring snow from Tuesday through Thursday. While the storm will be weak and move through in multiple, disjointed pieces, it will bring a lot of moisture and the chance for snow across two to three days, and these factors should wind up delivering a moderate snow total of 4-8 inches with 10+ inches not out of the question.

These multi-day storms usually make conditions a little better each day, so I am looking at Wednesday and especially Thursday morning as the times when we might see the softest snow and the most enjoyable turns.

After this storm, it is likely that we’ll see dry weather from about Friday, January 24th through about Monday, January 27th. Then the next storm could bring snow sometime between about Tuesday, January 28th through about Thursday, January 30th.

And looking out into the fantasy range of weather forecasting, beyond 15+ days, a few models are showing a stormy weather pattern for early and mid-February. While I have low confidence in these long-range predictions, I wanted to mention this potentially good news.
