Monday was gorgeous with dry weather, sunny skies, and comfortable temperatures.

On Tuesday morning at sunrise, the next storm began to make it snow and the summit snow stake cam shows 2-3 inches as of 700am. We should see snow showers continue throughout the rest of the day on Tuesday with at least another 2-4 inches and maybe more. Turns will become softer as the day goes on, and also with some snow falling after lifts close on Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday morning’s turns should be soft as well.

Looking ahead, Wednesday and Thursday will be dry with comfortable with high temperatures in the 20s.

On Friday, a weak storm tracking to our north could bring anything from just clouds to maybe a few flakes.

Then on Saturday, a stronger storm will track through southern Colorado. This is not a favorable track for snow for us, so my expectations for accumulations are pretty low.

The week from Monday, January 11 to Sunday, January 17 will be mostly dry. We might see a storm try to sneak in around Tuesday, January 13th, but the odds of big snow are low.

The week from Monday, January 18 to Sunday, January 24 has a better chance for snow as a stormier pattern tries to push from the southeast back westward to the northern Rockies. I am watching the weekend of January 16-17 through this week of the 18-24th as a time when we could transition to a stormier pattern.

The week of Monday, January 25 to Sunday, January 31 looks like it could be stormy over the Rockies, and hopefully, this translates into significant snow for us. Most longer-range models show this stormy pattern to close out January, and we could sure use it. Fingers crossed!
