Snow to start and end the week at Steamboat
Summary
We saw snow on Sunday night into Monday morning, and then after a mostly dry week, we should see snow from Friday through next weekend.
Short Term Forecast
Sunday brought dry and mostly cloudy weather, then snow returned on Sunday night with 1 inch as the official report as of Monday morning (and there might be a bit more than that in some spots around the mountain).
From Monday midday through Thursday, expect dry weather and comfortable temperatures with daytime highs generally in the 20s.
Then our chances for snow will ramp up from Thursday night through Sunday night. This storm will bring winds from the southwest, which is generally not a favorable wind direction for big snow totals. However, with snow possible for multiple days and pieces of stronger storm energy moving nearby, we could wind up with significant accumulations. The most snow could fall from Saturday night through Sunday night and the best powder could be on Sunday.
Extended Forecast
We should see a break in the snow on Monday, January 25th.
Then two storms are possible with one around Tuesday to Wednesday, January 26-27, and another around the following weekend, Saturday to Sunday, January 30-31. It looks like our snow dances are working…
